WHAT SEASON ARE YOU?

Begin with neutrals.  The neutrals of nature include blue, green, sand and brown.  These colors serve as a backdrop to any season or space.  Add punches of color in rugs, lamps, pillows and accessories.  Rusts, orange, reds and gold for a Fall pallete.  White, silver, gray and brilliant blues create visions of Winter, add some black into this pallete for drama.  Pastels, purple and yellow usher in Spring.  If you are a Summer person- you will be more comfortable in surroundings with more saturated colors of orange, green and blue.

Rowe, C R Laine, Huntington House and Vanguard are great upholstery lines which offer hundreds of fabric combinations for your season.  We will be receiving the NEW 08 MARKET INTRODUCTIONS soon.  Please stop by an take a look.

To those of us in the “FURNITURE BUSINESS”, our equivalent to the Wall Street Journal is “FURNITURE TODAY”.  FT is where we “get the scoop” on everything in our industry.  You may be interested to know what the October 2008 High Point Market has in store for us as buyers and you as consumers.

In UPHOLSTERY the “palette continues to be quiet”.  Subtle shades of tan, gray, yellow, green and off white correspond to the dominance of transitional to contemporary styles.  Take heart!  Traditional seems to be sneaking back in with updates to appeal to the younger generations.  Skirts, nail head trim and welting are commonly seen.  The movement to reduce the scale of upholstered pieces is strong.

In OCCASIONAL CASEGOODS  inspiration comes from exotic animals with prints added to chest fronts, table tops and legs.  We will also see some elegance in painted patterns on pastel or light colored pieces.

In BEDROOM AND DINING the tried and true Louis Philippe is everywhere.  If you are loving curves- transitional groups feature soft, flowing curves on drawer fronts, headboards and bunching china cabinets.  Storage and added function remain a high priority.

In HOME ENTERTAINMENT consumers are continuing to demand taller TV consoles in the 36 to 46 range.  Storage shelves for center channel speakers or sound bars are increasing in popularity.
